Anybody went to msnbc? The picture of the shooter. Normally you look at the pictures of the shooters, and you see something in them that you think yeah they look odd or suspsicious or crazy (even if its just your mind making it easier to deal with). He doesn't look like it.

BLACKSBURG, Va. - A Virginia Tech senior from South Korea was behind the massacre of at least 30 people locked inside a campus building in the deadliest shooting rampage in modern U.S. history, the university said Tuesday.
Ballistics tests also found that one of the guns used in that attack was also used in a shooting two hours earlier at a dorm that left two people dead, Virginia State Police said.
Police identified the shooter as Cho Seung-Hui, 23, a senior from South Korea who was in the English department at Virginia Tech. Cho, a South Korean native, was in the U.S. as a resident alien with a residence established in Centerville, Va. Cho was living on campus in Harper Residence Hall.
The bloodbath ended with the gunman's suicide, bringing the death toll from two separate shootings "? first at a dorm, then in a classroom building "? to 33 and stamping the campus in the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains with unspeakable tragedy.
'He was a loner'
"He was a loner, and we're having difficulty finding information about him," school spokesman Larry Hincker said.
Cho had lived legally in the United States with his parents for 14 years, a U.S. immigration official said on Tuesday. He moved to the United States in September 1992 and lived in Centreville, Va., said Chris Bentley, a spokesman with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
South Korea's Foreign Ministry expressed its condolences, saying there was no known motive for the shootings and that South Korea hoped the tragedy would not "stir up racial prejudice or confrontation."
Two law enforcement officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because the information had not been announced, said Cho's fingerprints were found on the guns used in the shootings. The serial numbers on the two weapons had been filed off, the officials said.
One law enforcement official said Cho was carrying a backpack that contained receipts for a March purchase of a Glock 9 mm pistol.
Col. Steve Flaherty, superintendent of the Virginia State Police, said it was reasonable to assume that Cho was the shooter in both attacks but that link was yet definitive.
"There's no evidence of any accomplice at either event, but we're exploring the possibility,"? he said.
At least 26 people were taken to hospitals after the second attack, some seriously injured. Twelve students remained hospitalized in stable condition on Tuesday, officials said.
Bush to attend service
State, local and federal investigators spent the night collecting, processing and analyzing evidence from within the classroom building, Norris Hall. The deceased were recovered from at least four classrooms on the second floor and a stairwell of Norris Hall.
The gunman, who took his life, was discovered by police in a classroom among the victims.
All of the deceased have been transported to the Medical Examiner's Office in Roanoke for examination and identification.
The names of the deceased students and faculty will be released once all victims are positively identified and next of kin notified.
President Bush planned to attend a memorial service Tuesday afternoon at the university, the White House said, and Gov. Tim Kaine was flying back to Virginia from Tokyo for the 2 p.m. convocation.

My first thought was that he seemed troubled in the picture, almost angry. According to a article on Yahoo his creative writings in class were so troubling to faculty that he was referred to a counseling service.

Police sought a search warrant for Cho's room in Harper Residence Hall, saying in a court affidavit that they had found a "bomb threat note ... directed at engineering school department buildings"? near his body, The Washington Post reported on its Web site. "The note is connected with the shooting incident,"? the affidavit said.
Police said that there had been bomb threats on campus over the past two weeks but that they had not determined a link to the shootings.
Fellow students in a playwriting class with Cho described his plays as dark and disturbing.
"His writing, the plays, were really morbid and grotesque,"? Stephanie Derry, a senior English major, told the campus newspaper, The Collegiate Times.
"I remember one of them very well. It was about a son who hated his stepfather. In the play, the boy threw a chainsaw around and hammers at him. But the play ended with the boy violently suffocating the father with a Rice Krispy treat,"? Derry said.
Derry said Cho's classmates could only make jokes about Cho's work because "it was just so fictional, so surreal."?
"I kept having to tell myself there is no way we could have known this was coming,"? she told the newspaper. "I was just so frustrated that we saw all the signs but never thought this could happen."? (MSNBC)
Classmates said that on the first day of an introduction to British literature class last year, the 30 or so English students went around and introduced themselves. When it was Cho's turn, he didn't speak.
The professor looked at the sign-in sheet and, where everyone else had written their names, Cho had written a question mark. "Is your name, `Question mark?"' classmate Julie Poole recalled the professor asking. The young man offered little response.
Cho spent much of that class sitting in the back of the room, wearing a hat and seldom participating. In a small department, Cho distinguished himself for being anonymous. "He didn't real out to anyone. He never talked," Poole said.
"We just really knew him as the question mark kid," Poole said. (FOX)

Play told of pedophilic stepfather, murder of 13-year-old boy
APRIL 17--The college student responsible for yesterday's Virginia Tech slaughter was referred last year to counseling after professors became concerned about the violent nature of his writings, as evidenced in a one-act play obtained by The Smoking Gun. The play by Cho Seung-Hui, a 23-year-old English major, was submitted last year as part of a short story writing class. Entitled "Richard McBeef," Cho's bizarre play features a 13-year-old boy who accuses his stepfather of [censored] and murdering his father. A copy of the killer's play can be found below. The teenager talks of killing the older man and, at one point, the child's mother brandishes a chain saw at the stepfather. The play ends with the man striking the child with "a deadly blow."
